Have you heard of the Sketchbook Project? It is
the world's largest collection of Artist sketchbooks. Steven
Peterman, founder of the organization, announced that "After 17
years, hundreds of thousands of book checkouts, over 50k sketchbooks
created, thousands of miles traveled, we are closing the project. We
have decided to fully shut down The Sketchbook Project and Brooklyn
Art Library non-profit and gift the collection to other amazing
institutions that can better care for the books."
While it is
sad to see it go, we are beyond excited to announce that the Taube
Museum of Art has been selected as one of the institutions that will
receive a portion of the collection! We are so grateful for the
opportunity to preserve these books and integrate them into our
permanent collection. Stay tuned for updates!
